On tapping your personal networks, over sharing, and building an email list

Nov 3, 2011 | Chats

During the November 2 #SoloPR Twitter chat, independent PR pros discussed leveraging personal social networks for business purposes, how best to straddle the line between business communications and personal messages in social media spaces like Facebook, and more. Specifically, the following questions were addressed:

  1. How do you pass expenses/subscriptions to your clients – in your rate, separate administration fee, direct expense line, other?
  2. Do you make use of your personal social network for business purposes?
  3. When does crossing the personal/professional line go too far?  Can you alienate your non-PR friends?
  4. Do you have a method for building an email list from web site visitors?

Be sure to check out the transcript in PDF format for the full discussion. Note that the transcript is in reverse chronological order.
