For many of us, Sarah Evans needs no introduction. Sarah's Twitter innovations include the popular #journchat weekly chat (the model on which our #solopr chat is based), and she's never afraid to try something new.
But few realize that Sarah hasn't always been a free agent. Last October at the PRSA International Conference, I spoke with Sarah about her move to independence (technical difficulties prevented me from sharing this video until now). Watch as she opens up about overcoming the fears of becoming a business owner, knowing when to hire, and the camaraderie we all share as self-employed PR pros:
What do you think of Sarah's story, and how have you overcome fear in your own business?

Thank you for this! I've followed Sarah for years and appreciate her candor in this video. Solopr isn't for the faint of heart but there's much to be gained if you can stand the venture.
Thanks, Robin — I think it's great to know that we all continue to adjust as we go along. Much to be gained, indeed!
Nice to hear others have to deal with the fear factor, too. I started following Sarah when she worked for the community college and saw that she was on her own, but wasn't aware of the circumstances that lead from A to B. Thanks for sharing.
I think Sarah is a great example of how you need to close your eyes and make the leap to independence whenever the opportunity presents itself. Glad you enjoyed it.
