Measurement is crucial to public relations, social media, and communication consultants. As Peter Drucker said, “you can't manage what you don't measure.” In a profession that is often misunderstood and sometimes undervalued, it is more important than ever to be able to measure what we do. Measurement takes the mystery out of how we added value by giving credence to it in black and white. What we do is pretty magical but we must show the science, sweat, and hard work behind it. In 2017, we should all be willing to show our work with hard and fast numbers.
