As you've probably seen, there's a funny little meme going around depicting the difference between what people think you do, and what you actually do for a living. For some Friday fun, I thought we solo PR pros could use one of our own!
What do you think? What would be in your graphic?
I’m largely a clerk-typist with a doctoral degree, thanks to the ‘flattened’ workplace that ’empowers’ me to do mind-numbing, soul-sucking stuff I delegated to people earning half as much, a quarter century ago. I am very tired of it.
Kellye – You forgot doing laundry between calls! 🙂
Interestingly, I’ve had similar conversations with several people not in PR this week. Seems most everyone is working harder these days, but at least an indies we have more control over it!
Oh yes- that’s a big benefit of working from home! Pity those poor souls who have to do everything on the weekend. 🙂
I also get to play with my assistant, my Boxer dog Mario. Getting down on the floor to play with the ball and box (yes, Boxers box) is better than any coffee break… and I love my coffee so that’s saying a lot.
I think all six panels are true to some extent, depending on when you ask me ha! Most days I think I have the greatest job in the world. No matter what you do for a living we should all be lucky enough to say this.
I think you pretty much nailed it.
So true! Reminds me of the saying, “if you love your job, you’ll never work a day in your life.”
Thanks – glad you liked!
Haha…if this were a poster I would buy it!
