Company: The Barber Group, Inc.

Overview

The Barber Group is an agency of one that can quickly grow to meet customer needs. Since 2000, I’ve been solving communication problems and generating excitement for companies small and large, in the US and around the world.

Over the past 35+ years in public relations I’ve done a lot of different things. I’ve told the story of a telecommunications company through the eyes of its employees, developed a communications strategy and brand for a statewide community foundation, created a now-traditional July 4th celebration, and provided strategic support for a historic political campaign.

Prior to creating my own firm, I worked for several agencies (from global to local) and commodity boards. I’ve spent nearly 40 years solving client problems, connecting them with their customers, or the people they want to be their customers. I’ve done this for everyone from a small local nonprofit to a political campaign in the country’s largest state to an international brand. I work with food companies, native corporations, communication companies, and small businesses…anyone who wants to get to the bottom of the problem at hand before trying to tackle it.

I spent time in Portland, Denver and San Francisco before moving to Anchorage in 1991 and back to the Northwest late in 2014. Between 1978 and 1991, she worked with a variety of food groups representing beef, sheep, seafood, raisins, potatoes and prunes. Taking a break from food public relations and keeping a promise made to a US Senator, I coordinated the volunteer efforts for his successful statewide political campaign. I returned to politics in 2010 to provide strategic counsel to Senator Lisa Murkowski on her historic write-in campaign.
