Is a Business Coach for You?

Jan 14, 2010 | Chats

As a follow-on to last week’s guest post, Let Your Conscience (or Business Coach) Be Your Guide, Charity Lacey (the post’s author) suggested we have her “Jiminy Cricket” as a guest on the #solopr Twitter chat. Never one to back down from an experiment, I invited Charity to guest moderate this week’s chat with her coach as our special guest so we could get some free advice and talk about the kinds of support a business coach offers.

One key takeaway: a coach helps specifically with your business (setting goals and keeping you on track), while profession-specific guidance comes through other kinds of training, mentoring, etc.

As we discussed some of the participants’ questions during the chat, perhaps it should be no surprise that much of the excellent advice came from the wise  members of the Solo PR Pro community. Thanks to everyone who participated, and checkout the PDF transcript (which is in reverse chronological order) if you missed it.

What do you think about coaches? If you’ve had any experience with using one, how did it go?

The #solopr chat – held each Wednesday from 1-2 p.m. Eastern – is a weekly ritual for a host of savvy Solo PR Pros on Twitter.  Anyone with a Twitter account is welcome – see Join Us for the #solopr Chat on Twitter to find out how!
