Jen: Excellent point about having a network of other consultants to serve as your backup. I think that's worthy of its own post someday soon!

Great advice Kellye! My husband would kill me if I didn't take a vacation with him. How do I do it? If you align yourself with a network of other solo pros you trust, you can help each other out. I've sat in for a colleague while she was on maternity leave, and another handled my largest account when I headed out for a 2-week cruise last week.

For the holidays... Yes, I'll be available here and there, but I'm mostly offline on the weekends. And the holidays are definitely a "no" unless it's a true emergency.

Sanity rules! =8)
